S. Ramesh
Ramesh is Chief Technology Officer of Philosopher's
Stone Ventures, LLC. He is an experienced Chief Technology
Officer, Chief Software Architect, and a successful entrepreneur.
He is also an active investor in early stage technology
companies, and a prominent member of angel investment clubs,
including the Tech Coast Angels (TCA), and the Indus Entrepreneurs
(TiE); and is an advisor for GKM Ventures. He has a great
deal of experience in early stage venture capital, technology
incubation, distributed enterprise computing, biotechnology,
telecommunications and financial software platforms. Mr.
Ramesh currently sits on the board of five companies in
the internet infrastructure and enterprise software spaces.
He is a frequent speaker and panelist on technology investment
and early stage funding in entrepreneurial conferences in
southern California.
Ramesh is an expert in the management and design of complex
computer systems and has over fifteen years of experience
in every aspect of software development. Prior to founding
Philosopher's Stone Ventures, Ramesh served as CTO and lead
software architect at numerous companies where he achieved
a string of successes in very technologically challenging
projects. His technology highlights include senior architect
roles in: Sprint's (NYSE: FON) Integrated On-Demand Network
(ION); Goldman Sach's (NYSE: GS) Strategic Stream Initiative
(SSI) and Principling Investment System (PIA Sys); IBM's
(NYSE: IBM) Visual Banker retail banking and CRM platform;
and ClearStream Bank's Global Corporate Actions System (GCA)
24/7 global securities trading and settlement platform;
among many others.
Ramesh has written numerous articles for technology journals.
He presented a new pattern language for business process
control at the Pattern Languages of Program Design conference
in 1998, and has been published in over 20 technical manuals.
Ramesh also has an extensive background in biotechnology,
with experience in environmental chemistry and molecular
genetics. He obtained his BSc in Biology and Chemistry (concentration
in Molecular Genetics) from the University of Western Ontario.
