Philosopher's Stone Ventures works with TiE San Diego's
Mentor Program
September 5, 2001, Redondo Beach and San Diego, CA - Philosopher's
Stone Ventures and TiE Southern California are working together
to organize the mentoring program.
TiE Southern California is a non-profit organization promoting
entrepreneurship and mentoring to the, but not limited,
Indus community. TiE was founded in 1993 and immediately
established a corset of values and ground rules to ensure
that the organization would be high-minded, self-steering
and meritocratic. Membership has now grown to over 600 members
with chapters in Boston, Austin and in Los Angeles. It is
a volunteer run organization by professionals in the high
technology industry and business community with the explicit
goal to benefit entrepreneurs.
With the increased competition today, entrepreneurship
has become increasingly more critical for survival, even
for the larger corporations. TiE has developed the mentoring
program to help entrepreneurs succeed through the guidance
and support of established professionals.
Philosopher's Stone Ventures is assisting TiE San Diego
in putting together, maintaining and matching entrepreneurs
with mentors. The mentors have a senior level of expertise
and come from the following industries, including, the venture
industry, law, business strategy, management, marketing,
sales or technology. TiE's goals are to foster and nurture
their members towards successful entrepreneurship.
Jenny M. Sakhrani, a member of TiE and also the CFO of
Philosopher's Stone Ventures states, "We are honored
