Philosopher's Stone Ventures to Prescreen Business Plans
for TiE San Diego

Stone Ventures is assisting the TiE San Diego chapter by
prescreening the submitted business plans and submitting
them to funding groups.
Philosopher's Stone Ventures is a technology incubator
focusing on, but not limited to, vertical markets. Their
expertise runs along the areas of Distributed Systems; Internet
and Wireless Software Infrastructure, Enterprise Software,
Medtech and Bioinformatics, and Collaborative and Financial
Software. The company's mission is to assist entrepreneurs
in turning their ideas into products and services; and build
profitable companies. Philosopher's Stone Ventures regularly
screens business plans for their own potential portfolio
companies.
As an incubator, Philosopher's Stone Ventures has the valuable
insight and expertise to assist TiE in the business plan
process. Jenny Sakhrani, CFO, says, "This screening

potentially ground-breaking business plans, and then help
them along the way by connecting them to investors and other
incubators."
The TiE organization is a worldwide networking and mentoring
organization run by high profile entrepreneurs, corporate
executives and senior professionals primarily with interest
in, but not limited to, the Indus region. TiE was founded
in late 1992 and established as a non-profit agency by a
group of entrepreneurs with roots from India. The organization
expanded to include networking, mentoring entrepreneurs,
and fostering entrepreneurship in general but it was not
limited to just Indus entrepreneurs.
TiE has now grown to over 800 members, with chapters in
Boston, Austin, and Atlanta. Several major institutions
that include, the leading Silicon Valley venture capital
investors, law firms, and banks support the organization.
TiE San Diego is accepting business plan submissions from
TiE members via email at present. They are proud to announce
in the near future that an online business plan submission
will be set up to further streamline the process and aid
member entrepreneurs.
