Philosopher's Stone Ventures President to Speak at NBIA International Business Incubation Conference

April 26, 2002, Redondo Beach, CA - S. Ramesh, President of Philosopher's Stone Ventures, a high technology incubator, will be speaking at NBIA's 16th International Conference on Business Incubation.

This year's conference entitled "Explore Your World, Enrich Your Community" will be held from Saturday, April 27, 2002 through to Wednesday, May 1, 2002 in Toronto Canada at the prestigious Royal York Hotel located in downtown Toronto.

"Toronto" is the Huron Indian world for "meeting place" and what better place for an International conference than Toronto. The NBIA conference will give the Incubation world the opportunity to come together to communicate the ideas, knowledge, innovations and successes of their industry. In world where globalization is a reality, Toronto is the ideal location to gain that perspective as it is home to more than 100 different cultures.

The conference is shaping up to be the most internationally charged conference. Last years attendance included a significant number of international attendees - nearly 32 percent were from outside the United States. Hosting the conference is the Toronto Business Development Centre, an incubator that has been helping to develop and grow new and existing businesses for more than a decade.

Subjects covered in the conference include: Making For-Profit Incubation Work Despite the Economic Downturn; Biotechnology Incubators; Marketing Strategies; Trends in Incubation; and Women in Incubation. The goal of the conference is to share the knowledge of incubators via educational sessions and roundtable discussions.

S. Ramesh will be leading a session on Wednesday, May 1, 2002, on making For-Profit Incubators succeed despite the current economic downturn. He will reveal how Philosopher's Stone Ventures business model proved successful in a time when others failed. Chris Raman, Chief Commercial Officer of GorillaPark in Gent, Belgium will be discussing the same topic with Mr. Ramesh.

Members of the incubator industry will be attending the NBIA conference. The distinguished members include Robert Birgeneau, President of the University of Toronto; Dr. Masao Horiba, Director General of Japan Association of Business Incubation Organizations; Jana Matthews, President/CEO of Boulder Quantum Ventures and Linda Kotzot, Managing Director of Pacific Incubation Network..

Philosopher's Stone Ventures is a technology incubator founded in 1999 by President S. Ramesh and CFO Jenny Sakhrani, both are Canadian citizens. Mr. Ramesh stated, "We have just opened an office for our RippleImpact division in Toronto and I am looking forward to expanding and developing our company in my home country. "
