Philosopher's Stone Ventures Judges Entrepreneur' Efforts
at Business Plan Competition
Claremont, CA, January 26, 2001 - Philosopher's Stone Venture's
CFO, Jenny M. Sakhrani, judged entrepreneurs' efforts during
a business plan competition held this month.
The Claremont University's Henry R. Kravis Business Plan
Competition was held at the end of January and allowed graduate
students and alumni entrepreneurs to compete for prizes
up to $4,000. The competitors also received expert advice
about how to grow their ideas into sustainable businesses
while continuing to foster the entrepreneurial spirit critical
to success.
Philosopher's Stone Ventures provided valuable insight
and advice about the incubation process for participants.
"The competitions are a great way for us to evaluate
potentially great business ideas, and then connect entrepreneurs
with incubators and investors," said Sakhrani
Business plan competitions are held during the course of
the year and serve to promote entrepreneurial endeavors
within the investor community. Universities and incubators
-- such as Philosopher's Stone Ventures -- host these business
plan competitions during the course of the academic year
to help initiate entrepreneurs' plans for new companies.
